Hero Karizma XMR lauched at 1.73 lakhs

Hero Karizma XMR is the first Hero product with liquid-cooling technology and dual-channel ABS.

Hero Karizma XMR is now finally launched at 1.73 lahks after multiple teasers. In 2003, Karizma was initially launched under Hero and Honda’s Partnership. It was not only a premium bike back then but also quiet popular among the youth. Karizma created a new segment, and its proud owners loved flaunting it. Hrithik Roshan being its brand ambassador then and even now he has launched the Hero Karizma XMR.

The Hero Karizma XMR received an update from time to time. But in 2019, due to fewer sales, Hero discontinued it as a result. Now, after Hero and Honda split, Hero launched the Karizma XMR. In a word, the Karizma XMR is a Hero product now. It is a very proud moment for India. 

Hero Karizma XMR: Engine, Frame, and Brakes

The Hero Karizma XMR now gets an all-new liquid-cooled, 210cc, single-cylinder engine. Further, it gets a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. Power and torque figures are 25.5hp and 20.4Nm, respectively. Hero is also introducing its new liquid-cooling technology and the dual channel ABS through Hero Karizma XMR.

Hero Karizma XMR now uses a steel trellis frame that justifies its sporty nature. The steel trellis frame is lightweight. Markedly performance-oriented bikes use a steel trellis frame. The Hero Karizma XMR gets telescopic shock absorbers on the front, and a 6-step adjustable mono-shock does the job in the rear.

The brakes, as mentioned above, are dual-channel. It is also the only product of Hero that uses this technology to date. A 300mm disc in the front and a 230mm at the rear do the braking duties for this motorcycle. The front Tyre Size is 100/80-17, and the rear tyre is 140/70-17.

Hero Karizma XMR: Design and Features

The design of the bike is sporty, which depicts its DNA. Hero has given it a layered fairing that looks very impressive. People who love sports bikes will like its design. It gets clip-on handlebars and a dashboard LCD with turn-by-turn navigation using Bluetooth connectivity. 

Hero is also introducing a segment-first feature, which is an adjustable windshield. 

All LED lighting in the front and rear is an eye-catcher. The rear 140-section tyre complements the bike as well. The design of the motorcycle is according to the youth of today. 

Hero Karizma XMR : Ergonomics

With a seat height of 810mm, it can accommodate all types of riders, but an average-sized adult may have to tip-toe. The ergonomics are spot on. It feels very roomy, therefore you can change your position as you wish. 

Hero focuses more on day-to-day rides and touring ability as it has a slightly relaxed riding position. You must lean forward to grab the clip-on handlebars, but less than the Yamaha R15 or KTM RC200.

Hero Karizma XMR: Price, colors, and rivals

The Hero Karizma XMR is priced at Rs 1,72,900 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi, introduction). Once the introductory price window closes, it will cost you Rs 1,82,900. It is available in three colors – Yellow, Red and Matte Black.

Its main rival are Yamaha R15 V4 (Rs 1.82 lakh-Rs 1.95 lakh), KTM RC 200 (Rs 2.18 lakh), Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 (Rs 1.72 lakh), Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 (Rs 1.81 lakh-Rs 2.05 lakh).

There is a growing demand of neo-retro bikes like Honda H’ness, Triumph Speed 400, TVS Ronin, Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Jawa Yezdi and Jawa 42. It will be very interesting to see how a sports bike like Hero Karizma XMR will perform in sales.
