TATA Harrier facelift and adorable Safari facelift revealed

TATA Harrier facelift and Safari facelift, both SUVs, are open for booking for Rs 25,000.

Since the launch of both the SUVs Harrier and Safari, they have yet to receive a facelift.

It is the first facelift of both SUVs. Minor updates were introduced in between in the exterior, but no significant changes were made. Now, both the SUVs are upgraded inside out. Both look stunning, modern, and more proportionate.

Safari is a brand known for its tough and rugged nature. Harrier is also like its sibling, a brand of its own. Both the SUVs are highly safe. All the Tata cars are secure, or the safest among all.

Recently, TATA launched the Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift, too. Harrier and Safari front facia depict that they are from the TATA family. Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari facelifts have similar front fascia. TATA is updating all its vehicles very futuristically. What changes are there in both the TATA Harrier facelift and Safari facelift from the previous models? Let’s find out.

TATA Harrier Facelift changes – Exterior

Before coming to the exterior, let me say that Harrier now comes in Yellow, which looks fantastic. This yellow color on the TATA Harrier facelift makes it look like a Lamborghini Urus. There are other new colours, like green, red, etc., but Yellow seems outstanding.

The dimensions of the SUV remain more or less the same. Talking about the exterior, TATA upgrades the front fascia completely. It gives you a fresh look. To start with, connected LED DRLs on the front look astonishing, futuristic, and appealing. A black band divides the front fascia into two parts. The upper part is the grille section with the TATA logo in the center. The lower section is a mesh for air intake. The headlight placement is impeccable, and fog lamps sit right under them. The whole headlight and fog lamp placement is very low on the bumper.

The rear end of the TATA Harrier facelift also gets a connected LED connecting both backlights. The back end now looks more sleek and mature than the outgoing models. The placement of the reflectors on the extreme left and right completes the muscular look of Harrier.

Harrier facelift now gets 18-inch newly designed alloy wheels as standard.

TATA Harrier Facelift changes – Interior

As I have noted, in the interior of the TATA Harrier facelift, you now get a standing touch screen of 10.25 inches or 12.3 inches, depending on the variant. The material used in the interior of the TATA Harrier facelift is now very upmarket as compared to the outgoing model. The textured fabric is used in the roof, and a piano black finish is seen on many parts. Leatherette padding with contrast stitching makes the SUV very premium from the inside. Controllable ambient lighting runs throughout the TATA Harrier facelift, even on the sunroof.

Identically in the Nexon facelift, the physical buttons are almost negligible in the interior. The control is now all through a touch panel. A new 4-spoke steering wheel with all the power switches on it, and the TATA logo now lights up in the TATA Harrier facelift! As in the Nexon facelift, the digital instrument cluster is also customizable and can be used for navigation. In the automatic variants, the gear lever is stubbier, and a rotary dial to select the drive modes is given with a display.

TATA Safari facelift exterior and interior

Comparatively, it was hard to distinguish the front fascia of the previous models of Harrier and Safari. But not this time, as the Safari facelift has its unique look and character to distinguish it from the Harrier facelift. The connected LED DRLs run throughout the front fascia as in the TATA Harrier facelift. What distinguishes Safari is the front grille, which is broader and more prominent. The mesh grille for air intake is also unique in design. The headlights and fog lamps are slightly higher, and the setup looks more rectangular.

The rear of the Safari facelift, like the TATA Harrier facelift, gets a connected LED light setup. The whole back looks more rectangular than the front fascia. Hence, the front and rear look proportionate.

In the interior, it is almost the same as the TATA Harrier facelift. What’s different from the TATA Harrier facelift is the dashboard’s finishing, and it gets ventilated seats in the second row.

TATA Harrier facelift and Safari facelift trims

Like the Nexon facelift, the TATA Harrier facelift and Safari facelift also get new vocabulary for the trims. For TATA Harrier facelift, the trims are Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Fearless. For Safari Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished will be in use.

Harrier and Safari – Engine

The TATA Harrier facelift uses the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic. The SUV gets a new electric power steering compared to the outgoing model hydraulic. The steering of the TATA Harrier facelift also comes in two driving modes, Regular and Sport, which work in sync.

Moreover, both SUVs come in three driving modes: Eco, City, and Sports. The manufacturer also claims that in the TATA Harrier facelift and Safari facelift model, the suspension setup is tuned according to Indian roads. TATA, being an Indian brand, knows Indian roads well.

Pricing and Rivals

TATA has not disclosed the TATA Harrier facelift and Safari facelift price yet, but they will announce it soon. However, you can book the TATA Harrier facelift for Rs 25,000.

Furthermore, talking about competition, it is a very tough category to compete in. You can opt for a seven-seater with a little more money. But TATA Harrier facelift being a 5-seater SUV, its direct competition is Jeep Compass, MG Hector, and Mahindra XUV 700 5-seater.

Safari facelift has tough competition, too, with Mahindra Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
